Meet the Team at Lakelands Hospice

Lakelands Day Care Hospice was set up as a direct response to the needs of local Corby people living with cancer, heart failure and other life-limiting illnesses.

Fundraising

  • Sue Hall

    Trust and Grants Officer/Office Manager

    Worked at the hospice since: 2015. Its good to see the difference that the Trust and Grants income stream makes to our patients, their carers and families. I have first hand experience of using our services for my father and my late husband so understand the impact or services have on the family of a loved one.

    Head of Fundraising & Data Protection Officer

    Jenny joined Lakelands in December 2023 coming from a Hospice and fundraising background

    Worked at the hospice since: 2001 (since the hospice opened)
    What I like about my role: Is the variation of tasks and no two days are ever the same! As a small team we all share the same vision.

  • Maria Hodges

    Accounts Manager

    Worked at the hospice since: 2010
    What I like about my role: is that its varied and involves numbers which I like working with. I also enjoy handling data, being part of the Admin Team, resolving queries and reconciling bank accounts.

    What I like about my role: is recruiting and supporting our team of volunteers who play a major part in the provision of services we provide for our patients. The role is varied so no two days are ever the same.

    Worked at the hospice since: 2010
    What I like about my role: Working with an amazing team in such a happy and positive place and to be with our patients on their journey. My patients inspire me each and every day.

  • Kate Connolly

    Hospice Nurse

    Worked at the hospice since: 2016
    What I like about my role: supporting patients and their families. We have time to care, which is important. Very often patients come in feeling down but leave smiling. As a nurse, that's what matters, making a difference.

    What I like about my role: I have time to talk to the patients and help them through whatever problems and worries they are experiencing. It's a good feeling to know they can trust me and my colleagues and want to come back and be part of Lakelands.

    Worked at the hospice since March 2022. My role adds to patients safety, comfort and wellbeing. I'm happy working with the team that make a real difference, putting the patients needs first.

    Cathy joined the hospice in January 2024. I feel so privileged to be given this opportunity and am looking forward to getting to know the people that attend from the local area, and working with the members of the team that have an outstanding reputation.

    What I like about my role: is working together with the family in their own homes so that we can fulfil their loved one's last wishes and provide high quality compassionate care.

    What I like about my role: I enjoy interacting with our customers at Lakelands Warehouse and making money for the hospice.

    Linda joined us as our Cook in the Cafe at the Emporium in 2023.

  • Sam Baseley

    Warehouse Assistant

    Sam was a volunteer at the Warehouse for a few years before becoming a full staff member.
