Losing a loved one, friend or colleague is always difficult but making a donation in their memory is a very thoughtful and positive way of remembering and celebrating their life.
Your donation will be used to provide quality specialist care to other people with life-limiting illnesses.
Many families decide to ask for donations to Lakelands Hospice in lieu of sending flowers for a funeral. Families may request that donations are sent to the funeral director who after a suitable period will forward the donations to us.
Alternatively, families may request donations be sent direct to us. If this is the case, then please include the name of the person you are donating in memory of so we can acknowledge all donations and inform the next of kin of the total amount collected.
Families often decide to hold a collection in memory of their loved one at their funeral. If you would like a collection in memory of someone to be sent to us, please talk to your funeral director who can make the arrangements for you.
You can set up a JustGiving In Memory fundraising page allowing anyone to make an online donation or to link their own fundraising activities with.

Light up a Life is a ceremony where you can make a dedication to a loved one, in the form of a shining light on our beautiful Christmas tree. Our Christmas trees will be the focus point of each service and will be illuminated with hundreds of lights to represent the life of a loved one. Both trees will shine brightly throughout the festive season, providing a comforting reminder of the people we love and wish to remember.
We hold two LUAL services each year around Christmas time, they are warm, poignant and cherished events where we read out the names of loved ones no longer with us, these names are then entered in a Book of Remembrance which will be displayed on both nights and in the hospice reception for the Christmas and New Year period.
