9th Dec 2019

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who braved the cold and joined us for our Light up a Life services at Willow Place on Thursday 21st November and at the Hospice on Thursday 5th December. It was very humbling to see so many people come along to remember their loved ones, we hope our poignant services offered you all some comfort and an opportunity to quietly reflect and remember happy times with your loved ones.

Thank you to Mayor, Ray Beeby and his wife Toni Beeby for joining us and for the beautiful readings you gave at both services. During the service at the Hospice, Corby Silver Band Club presented Paul Marlow our Fundraising Manager with a cheque for £150.00, which the band had raised from an event they had held in November, such a wonderful gesture which is truly appreciated.

Thank you to all the talented musicians and singers who supported both services, you were all amazing and added a touch of sparkle to the events; Emma Mellon, Paul Davis and Gracie Mellon, Chordless Corby Corby, Corby Silver Band and
Valley Voice, Cottingham and Middleton Community Choir.

Once again, thank you to Barry Currall from Co-operative Funeralcare – Darley Dale for sponsoring this year’s events by providing the service books, refreshments and dedications book.

Thank you to Daniel Pickard and his amazing team for hosting our Willow Place Service, to Colin and his team at Star Group Live for proving the trailer and to Brooke Weston Academy for kindly allowing us the use of their chairs for the Hospice service.

Finally, thank you to our team of amazing volunteers for giving their time and to everyone who made a dedication. Your wonderful generosity raised £2167.55 for Lakelands Hospice which will help our team of highly qualified and dedicated nurses care for more patients and their families through difficult times over this Christmas and New Year period.

The staff, patients and volunteers from Lakelands Hospice wish you all a Merry Christmas.
