IT IS WITH IMMENSE REGRET AND FRUSTRATION LAKELANDS IS FORCED TO ANNOUNCE THE POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2019 BRASS MONKEY 10K
Following the circuit’s sale in September, ALL events will cease at the end of the 2018, bringing to an end a 17-year run as one of the UK’s most-popular race tracks AND a 9 year run as host for the Brass Monkey.
Unfortunately, due to the timing of the announcement it hasn’t been possible to secure a location both big enough and safe enough to accommodate us at such short notice, we have taken the difficult decision to step back from the 2019 event, regroup and re launch at an exciting new location for 2020
Lakelands Hospice is immensely proud to have grown the event from a field of 70 fun runners to a 2018 high of over 700 UKA affiliated athletes, fun runners, children’s fun runners and wheel chair racers, we cannot thank you all enough for your support over the years and Lakelands can 100% guarantee the Brass Monkey event will return in 2020 at an iconic location within the Corby Borough.
Look out for an announcement early next year on what we hope will be the continuation of a fantastic event that makes such a difference to people living with life limiting illnesses, good luck in all your running adventures and we can’t wait to see you all in 2020.
We would like to introduce you to Rockingham10 ran by SBR Events.
This is an afternoon 5k, 10k & 10mile race at Rockingham Speedway Circuit which is held on 4th November after Rockingham Duathlon.
Sadly, this will be the LAST EVER RACE AT Rockingham Speedway Circuit as the venue is being sold to a new company at the end of the year & the racing track will be out of use & replaced by car parking for thousands of car for car auctions.

Rockingham10 is part of the Northants County Athletics Association (NCAA) Championships – 10 mile distance only. To be a part of this - enter as normal then on the day of the race, once you have collected your number/timing chip, visit the NCAA desk to register your intent to compete in the Championship.
Our charity Partner for this event is a local charity in Corby; Lakeland Hospice.
Lakelands Hospice is an independent charity committed to delivering the best possible practice and development of specialist palliative care for people with cancer, heart failure and other life-limiting illnesses. They are supporting the event with marshals & manning the baggage drop with volunteers. We ask for a cash donation for each bag dropped off.
