Lakelands Day Care HospiceLakelands hospice is a registered charity situated on the outskirts of Corby. Lakelands Hospice accepts patients living within a twenty mile radius of the hospice. The two storey building has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of our service users, including wheelchair access to the ground floor areas. For those with their own transport we can provide ample car parking spaces in the hospice grounds. Those who do not have their own mode of transport may access our specially adapted hospice minibus.
The services provided by Lakelands Hospice are entirely free and are specifically patients and carers experiencing the affects of cancer and heart failure.
Our AimTo provide patient orientated non-judgemental individualised care within a mutually trusting and supportive relationship. This is for those in need and their loved ones at the time of crisis and beyond, in an environment which provides tranquillity, support and care. Our objectives
- To play a part in the development of palliative care services in Northamptonshire
- To add a new dimension to the current palliative care packages which are already in place for cancer sufferers and their carers
- To provide a point of contact for advice and information, as well as a place in the community for people with cancer and heart failure
- To enhance the quality of life for people with life limting illnesses such as cancer and heart failure
- To maximise independence for patients and carers, equipping them with the resources and information they need to meet the challenges they will face in the future.
