Here you will find news on recent fundraising activity, including donations made to the hospice, picturtes from events that people held for lakelands and other updates. Everyone that supports the Hospice is greatly appreciated - Lakelands was built by the generosity of the community and continues to rely entirely on voluntary donations. PATIENTS SPIRITS LIFTED AS LAKELANDS LIFT APPEAL IS COMPLETELakelands Hospices’ patients, staff and volunteers are over joyed at the news that the lift appeal is complete. The £40,000 appeal for the lift was launched back in November 2008 when the hospice reached full capacity on the ground floor. The hospice is unable to expand its current services and therefore care for more people within the local community as it had no way of getting people with life limiting illness up two flights of steep stairs. The hospice continued to fundraise hard for the lift and patient care and then in August a local charitable trust telephoned the hospice and pledged to donate the remaining balance of just over £8,000 for the lift appeal! The hospice and its patients are delighted to lift appeal is complete as this will make a real difference to patient care. The installation of a lift will enable Lakelands Hospice to expand its services to those living with life-limiting illnesses will also allow fellow support groups to access the upper floor meeting rooms. Thank you to all the charitable trusts and the local people who supported the appeal. Next Appeal Hospice at Home...watch this space.
