We are delighted to let you know that the general ballot for 2009 Bupa Great North Run is now open.
The Bupa Great North Run, the world’s biggest half marathon, will take place on Sunday 20th September. The general ballot will close at midday on 9th February 2009 and will be drawn on 10th February. All successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified on or before the 16th February.

All applicants will be required to submit payment details at the time of entering the ballot. Payment will only be taken if the entry application is successful.

Good luck with your application and we look forward to seeing you at a Great Run event in 2009. Don’t forget there are a whole range of events throughout the year for you to choose from.

Prospective applicants are reminded to respect the challenge of distance running. Whilst it is an enjoyable route to fitness and well-being, it is also a significant physical challenge and if you have not exercised before or for some time, it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to undertaking an exercise programme.
